The Katsina State Agric and Rural Development Authority (KTARDA) has produced a hand-held power tiller machine for harrowing, ploughing and cultivation of farmlands.
The new machine was showcased at the recently concluded 10th edition of the National Agricultural Show.
Engr. Kabiru Ado Funtua, who led the team to the show, said the machine operates like a tractor but the accelerator and gear are operated manually.
He said the machine requires less energy to operate and can cultivate up to 2ha of land per day without breaking down.
In the area of maintenance, Engr Kabiru, advised that the machine be given regular servicing, washing, greasing and topping up of diesel to keep it going.
