Kogi Agric Summit to Hold in Abuja, Abidjan

The government of Kogi State has said its proposed Agricultural summit is aimed at showcasing the state as the hub of agricultural investment in the country.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Kehinde Oloruntoba, who disclosed this yesterday said the summit would take place in Lokoja, Abuja and Abidjan, the Côte d’Ivoire capital. Oloruntoba said the summit would be headlined by some of the most experienced consultants in agricultural investment and would be attended by investors and companies with interests in agriculture and agro-allied businesses.

He said the Lokoja event will take place on January 26th, 2018, while the Abuja leg holds on February 9. Chairman of the Summit is Chief Kolawole Jamodu, who was the first Nigerian Chairman and CEO of PZ for 10 years and has been the Chairman of Nigerian Breweries Plc since January 1, 2008.

Billed to speak at the events are Professor of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Ali Benjamin Haruna from  University of Technology, Yola; World Bank’s Senior Operations Specialist and Task Team Leader of the World Bank Assisted Commercial Agriculture Development Project, Dr. Lucas Akapa; and others. Dr. Stella Adejoh, PhD. Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology. Also in attendance will be the Coordinator of Synergies, Victor Adejoh.
