The management of Stallion group, an umbrella to popular Farms and Mills Limited and Masco Agro Allied Industries, says it has imparted technical and business skill training under its Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Farmers Business School (FBS) initiatives to 29,000 out growers across rice producing states.
Speaking during a free rice farming tools distribution to members of some farmers associations held at Dakasoye village in Garun Malam Local Government Area of Kano State, the group’s agric and procurement manager, Mr. Sudhansu Ray, stated that out of the number of beneficiaries, about 20% were women, adding that this is part of Stallion Group’s fulfilment of its commitment to spend a dedicated budget towards achieving its rice value chain initiative.
Speaking to newsmen on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malam Sani Danladi revealed that, the group has been doing a great deal of work to motivate rice farmers, adding that if all rice millers in the country will emulate Stallion Group, the nation will indeed attain its rice sufficiency level within a short period of time.
The items distributed by the group included, sprayers, water pump and accessories, plant population measuring square, measuring scale and winnowing fan.
